It doenst explain on the application or website, when you pay an expedit fee is your passport still mailed or is it done the same day. i know it says going to the passport office is the best option for those planning on travelling within 14 days… but does anyone know the turn aroudn time on getting your actual passport?

Next August, 2008, my husband and I have a meeting in Canada, and are planning to take our children, the oldest of whom will be 11. We are all US (Michigan) citizens. Will we all need passports, how much does a passport cost, and how long is it valid? Is this done through the Secretary of State’s office?
By the way, we’ll be driving, not flying, if that makes any difference.

Ive had my passport for a year now, but my question is i have a 5 month year old daughter and i am barely getting her passport , but i am planning to go to brazil in July. Can it be done or do i Have to wait for her passport to be valid for 6 months after in order for us to take the trip?
